Hard to Source parts
Below will be a list that is not exhaustive of parts that are unique to the Chetak Classic SL and where in India you may be able to find them.
It is only in the northern hemisphere that the Chetak is rare, you would be surprised to know that in Asia and parts of Africa these scooters are exceptionally common and in some parts of India the Bajaj was a major part of any wedding dowry giving the newlyweds mobility, so don't despair folks, those parts are out there but I would recommend buying more than one if you intend to keep the scooter for any length of time.
If a part is no longer able to be sourced I hope that modification ideas will help alleviate the problem, the Indian's are past masters at modding Vespa's so don't give up hope even if you can't get the item specific, even the switches can be made out of simple components bought at an electric store and wired in on a home made switch board.
